Like, I don’t think ppl realize the level of abusive behaviour Ned took by simply murdering Lady. Even if she had been just a normal pet, it was an egregious act of violence beyond simply cutting the poor thing’s throat.
He literally told Sansa that she can’t rely on him, but even more, that she’ll be punished for what other people do, that he has no compunctions about harming her to please others, and that she’’a simply not someone he values.
And, yeah, we know that’s not what Ned MEANS to do, that’s not how he feels. But his actions aren’t the same as his feelings, and his actions are what’s impacting Sansa.
